Between town and country, the Carry Lane site adjoins both the elegant gateway into Colne lined with Victorian townhouses and the old road to Carry Bridge and the village of Trawden.
PEARL started work in October 2016 and is developing 32 new homes on this beautiful site which sits on the edge of open countryside, yet has easy access to the shops, cafes and restaurants in Colne town centre.
The scheme involves building 20 three and four bedroom family homes for sale on the open market on the lower part of the site. This will include a mix of detached and semi-detached homes with good sized gardens and lovely countryside views.
PEARL is building 12 new bungalows on the upper part of the site for the Peter Birtwistle Trust which provides supported accommodation for elderly Colne residents. The new properties will form an extension to the existing bungalow scheme. The Trust was founded by millionaire jeweller Peter Birtwistle who emigrated to Canada and died in 1927, leaving his entire fortune to provide housing for the people of Colne.
PEARL started work on site in October 2016 and the development is scheduled for completion in March 2018.
